El Gouna

The place

El Gouna

A town built across lagoons on the Red Sea, half an hour north of Hurghada airport. Water everywhere, reefs a few minutes out, desert at its back — and short enough distances that the whole week feels like one long, slow day.

The wedding day

The Smokery Beach, El Gouna

Friday, 2 April 2027. The ceremony begins at 3:00 pm at The Smokery Beach, followed by a long dinner and a party by the water. For anyone who would rather not go to bed, there is an optional after-party.

Make it a trip

Experience Egypt

Three ways people usually do it. Tell us which one appeals and we will help you build the itinerary, the flights and the hops in between.

Route one

Cairo, the Nile and Aswan

Fly into Cairo, take in the pyramids and the museum, continue down to Luxor and Aswan, then travel on to El Gouna for the wedding.

Route two

El Gouna with a Cairo detour

Fly into Hurghada and add a two-day trip up to Cairo in the beginning or end of your stay.

Route three

El Gouna and day trips

Fly into Hurghada, stay in El Gouna the whole time, and pick day trips from there — desert, reefs, Luxor or Cairo (overnight stay recommended).

A note on dates: German Easter holidays end right after the wedding, so flights home on Saturday 3 or Sunday 4 April are considerably more expensive. If you can, fly back on Monday 5 April. Our recommended window is Monday 29 March to Monday 5 April — it lands you in time for the whole programme at the best fare.
